Crank 3
Another idea which works in practice. It looks far better than the other crank ideas, and it DOES work. A single thin washer is sandwiched between two others and cushioned against a rod socket using one of the new plastic parts, the small clear rubber collar. (use a piece of 3.5 mm fish-tank air tubing of the right size and a scalpel to make hundreds of these most useful plastic parts!). Realise that the purpose of the plastic insert is to allow the washers to be firmly gripped on both sides, and to prevent the sandwiched washer slipping out. Probably the washers need to be of the punched variety, with a slight burr in the inside to give it the slightest bit of friction.
