My second car that I bought from a dealer on Jules street in Malvern. I owned this as a second vehicle for 8 years.

When I first bought the bakkie I tinted the windows a very dark tint and installed black leather front seats from a Nissan Sabre as well as a leather steering wheel, very nice for a Cortina bakkie.

I also installed a nice set of deep dish 15" mags and profile tires and lowered the bakkie to the floor by putting in a spacer on the rear suspension leaves and heat shrinking the front springs.

I installed a freeflow exhaust to the existing freeflow branches the bakkie came with.

In around December 1998 I took apart the engine and had Richie Jute in JHB CBD gasflow and skim the heads, grind the valves, port match the inlet manifold and cut the cam.

I put it all together and also swopped out the 2 barrel carb for a 4 barrel Holley carburetor. At the time in 1998 it was very fast and I could run with the BMW 325i E30's. I never dyno tuned the engine so I don't know the power output after the mods, but you could feel the power.

The idle and engine sound was awesome and I has a side swept chrome tip exhaust coming out of the rear left of the bakkie. The 4 barrel Holley sucked gas though.
